The series "Perspectives on Fundamental Processes in Intellectual Functioning" emphasizes the diversity, both methodological and conceptual, of research approaches to the study of intellectual functioning. A sample of basic and applied science, the series also has a focus on the various levels of intellectual abilities and how they are manifested. A major overarching theme is that an advanced understanding of learning processes at the behavioral, cognitive, and neurological levels can provide critical findings that, in the best case scenario, can lead to efficacious methods of constructing alternative pathways to learning for individual in need of particular intervention strategies. Volumes published thus far have included sections on information processing, neuroscience, animal models, language processing, applied cognition, and visual processing.
